I had the pleasure of photographing Gabrielle and Leo’s summer Jewish destination wedding at Château de Mille in the heart of Provence, France. Set within the Luberon National Park, nestled between Apt and Bonnieux, Château de Mille is a 13th-century wine estate and the oldest winery in the Luberon, once serving as a summer residence for the Popes of Avignon. Surrounded by vineyards and Provençal light, it has quickly become one of my favourite wedding venues. This wedding was photographed using a mix of film and digital.
Gabrielle wore a modern, shoulderless NEWHITE bridal gown. Before the ceremony, the couple shared an intimate first look, a quiet moment together ahead of the celebrations surrounded by lavender and the summer florals of the château’s gardens. The ceremony honoured meaningful Jewish traditions, including the breaking of the glass, while guests travelled from across the US, Europe and the Middle East to gather in the South of France. Seasonal florals and bridesmaids’ dresses reflected the Provençal summer with soft lavender and pastel pink and blue tones woven through the bridal bouquet. In place of traditional boutonnieres, the groom and groomsmen wore individual brooches, each chosen for its personal and sentimental meaning.
If you’re planning a Château wedding in Provence and feel a connection to my approach and visual style,
I would love to hear about your plans.
