A wedding at a château in southern France is many a bride and bridegrooms’ dream. A destination wedding to remember surrounded by your family and friends in beautiful surroundings, delicious French cuisine and of course the wine! Plus a very good chance of the big day being bathed in glorious sunshine. So check out one of my favourite wedding venues in South West France Chateau Plombis.

The Venue

Chateau Plombis is conveniently situated one hour from Toulouse in the stunning Quercy region of France. The property is available to rent all year round, and offers accommodation in the chateau and cottage for up to 25 guests. The château is set in 23 hectares of gardens, woodland and hay meadows where you will be free to roam undisturbed, as you and your guests will have exclusive use of the grounds, swimming pool and tennis court.

The Ceremony

If you’re getting married in the summer time at Chateau Plombis then the sun is strong! Therefore, I’d recommend having your wedding ceremony in the shade. You and your guests don’t want to be squinting and sweating for the whole ceremony! Plus it’s much better for the photographs to have shaded light. The Cocktails

Following your wedding ceremony you can organise the cocktails and music for in front of the chateau by the pool for that extra wow factor!

Couple Photos

I always time the couple and family photos at Chateau Plombis for during the cocktail hour. There are so many fabulous locations at the chateau to take photos! For Grace & Romain’s wedding we used the chateau for the backdrop, plus the shade from the large trees and then at golden hour we popped to the fields at the back of the Chateau. Isn’t Grace’s Made With Love Bridal dress absolute heaven!

Chateau Plombis is just a five-minute walk from the pretty bastide village of Castelsagrat, where you will find a bar-restaurant, general store, baker, hairdresser and post office. There are three market towns within a 20 minute drive: Valence d’Agen, Moissac and Lauzerte. The larger Préfecture town of Agen is 30 minutes away.
