Perhaps you’re getting married in the Luberon and you want some inspiration for your wedding portraits or engagement photo shoot. Or maybe you’re planning a family vacation to the Luberon and would like to organise a family photo shoot. Either way, I thought I’d share with you 9 (that’s my lucky number!) of my favourite locations in the Luberon, France to take photos.
Voted the most beautiful village in the world by the American magazine Leisure + Travel! This hilltop village is known for its stunning views of the surrounding countryside and its beautiful stone houses. This is without a doubt one of my top places to organise a Luberon photo shoot. I’m in Gordes at least twice a week during the summer capturing photos for clients. If you’re looking at getting married in Gordes then check out the luxury wedding venue La Bastide de Gordes. Or if you’re simply organising a portrait shoot then you can enjoy a drink or lunch at one of the hotel’s restaurants or bars.
Of course, I can’t miss out the famous Provence lavender fields. Come mid June to mid July the Luberon is bursting with incredible lavender fields that are the perfect location for a Luberon Photo Shoot. I always recommend to organise your shoot for the golden hours, which is an hour after the sun rises and an hour before the sun sets.
This charming Luberon village, I believe is the hidden gem of the Luberon. It receives far less tourists but is just as beautiful. So, if you’re looking for a more intimate location then Goult is the perfect spot for you!
This is one of my favourite villages to suggest for a Luberon Photo Shoot. The village is absolutely stunning, there are olive groves, vineyards and even a castle! I’d recommend making the most of your photo shoot and setting some time aside for lunch after or before your photo shoot. Hotel Le Moulin is a fabulous spot!
This hilltop village offers panoramic views of the Luberon valley and is dotted with charming stone houses and narrow streets. The village’s peaceful atmosphere and stunning vistas make it a fantastic location for a Luberon photo shoot.
Just after the lavender starts to fade, the sunflowers in the Luberon start to bloom. Every one opts for a lavender photo shoot but for me the sunflowers are my favourite! They don’t bloom for long, so make sure to contact me to organise your sunflower shoot date asap.
This village is known for it’s crystal clear natural spring that emerges at the base of a towering cliff. If you’re planning a Luberon photo shoot during the peak summer months then this is a fabulous village to avoid the heat and dip your toes in refreshing water. The tranquil village has cobblestone streets lined with quaint cafes and artisan shops.
If you’re visiting the Provence in May then you’ve arrived just in time for the Poppy fields. Again I’d recommend organising your photo shoot for the flattering golden light hours to get the best photos.
Ok ok, so this isn’t actually in the Luberon but I thought I’d be cheeky and add it to the list as it’s so beautiful!
When it comes to planning a Luberon photo shoot in France, there are endless locations from charming villages to scenic landscapes. Luberon really is a photographer’s paradise.
If you’re looking for a photographer in the Luberon for your wedding, engagement or family photo shoot then send me a message.
