Provence Wedding Bands and DJs

Choosing the right wedding band and DJ for your wedding day is one of the most important decisions you’ll make for your wedding day. So don’t leave this important decision to the last minute. The band & DJ are one of the suppliers that I’d recommend you book in advance as the good ones get booked up very quickly.  Get thinking about those favourite tracks and start making your own playlists right now!  Here are some tips to help you make the right decision:

A. Research and Recommendations: Start by researching local wedding bands and DJs in Provence. Look for reviews, testimonials, and recommendations from wedding planners in France who have had experience with them. This will give you a good starting point and help you narrow down your options.

B. Style and Genre: Consider the style and genre of music you want for your wedding. Do you prefer a live band that can play a variety of genres or a DJ who specialises in a specific style? Think about the ambiance you want to create and the type of music that will resonate with you and your guests.

C. Budget: Determine your budget for the wedding band and DJ. Prices can vary depending on their experience, popularity, and the services they offer. It’s essential to find a balance between quality and affordability, so consider multiple options within your budget range.

D. Availability and Flexibility: Check the availability of your preferred bands and DJs for your wedding date. Popular ones tend to get booked quickly. Additionally, discuss their flexibility in terms of accommodating special requests or customising the playlist to suit your preferences.

E. Experience and Professionalism: Look for Provence wedding bands and DJs with experience in performing at weddings. They should have a good understanding of the flow of a wedding day and be able to read the crowd to keep the energy high. Professionalism is also crucial, so ensure they have a professional website, contracts, and clear communication.

F. Sample Performances: Ask for sample performances or attend one of their live shows if possible. This will give you a firsthand experience of their talent, stage presence, and ability to engage the audience. It’s important to ensure their style aligns with your vision for your destination French wedding.

G. Equipment and Setup: Inquire about the equipment they provide, such as sound systems, lighting, and any additional services they offer such as a photo booth. Ensure they have the necessary equipment to create the desired ambiance and that they can set up and dismantle their equipment efficiently without causing any disruptions.

H. Personal Connection: Lastly, schedule a meeting or call with the potential bands and DJs to gauge their personality and professionalism. It’s important to feel comfortable and confident in their ability to deliver an exceptional performance on your special day.

Remember, the wedding band and DJ play a significant role in creating a memorable experience for you and your guests. Take your time, do thorough research, and trust your instincts when making the final decision.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with and seeing many great Provence Wedding Bands and DJs whilst working in France. Below are a list of some of my favourites:

1. Wildfire DJs

Wildfire are the best English speaking wedding DJs in the South of France. Organising a destination wedding in a foreign language can be a stressful process, so their English-speaking team helps you every step of the way to create the perfect soundtrack for your wedding day, tailored to your own style. They offer a full-day wedding DJ serviceto manage all the music and sound for the ceremony, cocktails, dinner and party. Plus provide all the equipment you need – PA systems with speakers, microphones and lights. A highly professional service that’ll keep your guests entertained, so you can kick back, let your hair down and party like the rest of them.

Wildfire DJs and I have worked on many weddings together. Most recently the fabulous Shannon & Tim’s destination wedding at Manoir de l’Etang in Mougins.

2. Johnny and the Walkers

An amazing acapella group who perform completely acoustically, requiring no amplification or stage, preferring instead to mingle with the wedding guests – serenading, flattering, surprising and seducing their listeners as they go. The groups audacious repertoire ranges from Rat Pack swing 60’s, rock n’ roll and 80’s classics to current chart music, giving hits from across the decades the distinctive Walkers treatment – unique instrumentation, riotous performances and 4 part harmonies.

3. Lizzy and The Gentlemen

Based on the French Riviera, Lizzy and The Gentlemen recreate some of the best loved popular songs spanning all decades to entertain you and your wedding guests. Repertoire that is curated across genres including, Jazz, Soul, and Pop. Expect to hear everything from Sinatra to Michael Jackson, from Ella Fitzgerald to Adele. I had the honour of photographing Kate & Warren’s wedding with Lizzy at the stunning Bastide du Roy in the French Riviera.

4. Riviera Roaming Band

One of my favourite Provence Wedding Bands is the Riviera Roaming Band are a professional acoustic covers and strolling band based on the Côte d’Azur, France. The band can also perform amplified/electric with acoustic drums and a sound system. All the musicians of the band are coming from one of the best music school in France. Their vocal harmonies will take your breath away! Riviera Roaming Band is able to play more than 200 songs covering all periods and almost every style. If Elton John said that these guys are awesome, we guess you can trust him!

My favourite wedding with this Riviera legend was Stephanie & Hendrik.
