Antibes France maternity photo shoot

Emma & Craig

We’ve been planning this photo shoot since before covid! Obviously because of travel restrictions, Emma & Craig were unable to come to the French Riviera, so we had to cancel their pre-wedding photo shoot. We tried and tried for a new date but our schedules just didn’t align. Once they finally did, it was the most perfect timing as they were expecting a little one! So, we started planning their French Riviera Maternity Photo Shoot immediately.

Antibes, the French Riviera

Emma’s family have a family home in Antibes, so she’s been visiting the Côte d’Azur ever since she was a little girl. She’d always dreamed of capturing her pregnancy bump in this special place. We decided to do the photo shoot at sunset in Juan Les Pins Antibes. This is a stunning spot for photos due to the light, harbour, great beaches and mediterranean sea. Unfortunately, the sun didn’t shine on the day but clouds are a perfect setting for photos due to the soft light. We met at the famous Hôtel Belles Rives then wandered through Port Gallice to get to know each other and ended walking along the coast line.

Maternity Photo Shoot Tips

I love maternity photo shoots! It’s such an incredibly important time in a couples’ lives and what better way to celebrate this than capturing some photos. I would have loved to have seen photos of my parents whilst my Mother was pregnant with me or my brother.

Ideally, you want to plan your maternity photo shoot during your second trimester when you have a nice baby bump but are still feeling comfortable and mobile. This will also give you plenty of time to choose a photographer, location, and outfits that you love.

When it comes to maternity photo shoots, comfort is key. Choose an outfit that make you feel beautiful and confident, but also allow you to move around easily. Flowy dresses, form-fitting tops, and stretchy fabrics are great options for showcasing your bump.

Pregnancy can be a stressful and overwhelming time, so it’s important to relax and enjoy the experience of your maternity photo shoot. Take deep breaths, trust your photographer, and focus on the love and excitement you feel for your baby. Remember, these photos will be cherished memories for years to come.
